St. Rafka (1832–1914), born Boutrossieh Ar-Rayyes in the village of Himlaya, Lebanon, was a Maronite nun of the Lebanese Maronite Order. She is known for voluntarily accepting suffering and uniting it with the Passion of Christ.
After years of teaching, she entered religious life and eventually asked God to share in the sufferings of Christ. She became blind and paralyzed, yet remained joyful and devoted to prayer for the remaining 30 years of her life.
St. Rafka was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1985 and canonized on June 10, 2001. Her feast day is celebrated on March 23.
